PARENT ON PURPOSE

The PARENT ON PURPOSE event is an opportunity for you to connect with other parents and be equipped to face the challenges of raising kids and teens in today’s changing culture. Topics will include:

  • Taming the Technology Monster

  • How to Talk to Your Kids About Sex

  • Intentional Parenting

David and Sissy are counselors from Nashville, Tennessee and have over forty years of experience counseling kids, teens, and families. They have written multiple books and love getting to share with parents what they have learned from their work with kids of all ages.

Sissy Goff…

spends most of her days talking with girls and their families, with the help of her counseling assistant/pet therapist, Lucy the Havanese. She has worked as the Director of Child and Adolescent Counseling at Daystar Counseling Ministries in Nashville, Tennessee since 1993, with a Master’s degree from Vanderbilt University. Sissy speaks to parents across the country and is the author of eleven books including Raising Girls. and her newest books, Raising Worry-Free Girls and Braver, Stronger Smarter (for elementary school girls) which will be released in September of 2019.

Sissy is a regular contributor to various podcasts and publications, including their own podcast called Raising Boys and Girls. You can find more information and resources at www.raisingboysandgirls.com.

David Thomas…

is the Director of Family Counseling at Daystar Counseling (daystarcounseling.com) in Nashville, TN, the co-author of eight books, including the best-selling Wild Things: The Art of Nurturing Boys (Tyndale House Publishers) and Are My Kids on Track? The 12 Emotional, Social & Spiritual Milestones Your Child Needs to Reach. He is a frequent guest on national television and podcasts, including his own with Sissy Goff and Melissa Trevathan called Raising Boys and Girls, has been featured in publications like USA Today, and speaks across the country.
